Welcome to the GPFS calendar of events. This calendar includes GPFS-sponsored events as well as non-GPFS events that may be of interest to local flutists. Also listed are important nearby out-of-town events. Please see the notes at the bottom of this page.

GPFS-Sponsored Events
February 10, 2018
What: Flute Academy for all Salem-Keizer/Corvallis/McMinnville area high school students
When: 8:30AM to 5:30PM
Where: Chemeketa Community College Building 6, Auditorium
Cost: $25 masterclass performers/$10 observers
More Info: The purpose is to have fun playing flute, make new friends, and learn more about music through workshops, a masterclassclass, flute ensemble and a concert. Masterclass students will work with Principal Flute of the Oregon Symphony Martha Long and the flute ensemble will be directed by Chemeketa/Linfield College Professor of Flute Abigail Sperling. This is the perfect opportunity to present your Solo & Ensemble piece before the district competition! Students are also invited to the Oregon Symphony Concert at Willamette University on February 9th at 8pm. Tickets cost $10/student for the OR Symphony concert. What: Flute Fair guest artist Julian Beaudiment recital
When: 7:30PM
Where: Portland State University, Lincoln Recital Hall (75), 1620 SW Park Ave, Portland, OR, 97201
Cost: $10 for GPFS Members, $15 for non-members, $5 group tickets for 10 or more (advance purchase only, contact Phyllis Louke)

What: Flute Fair with guest artist Julien Beaudiment
When: 9:00AM - 4:00PM
Where: Aloha High School, 18550 SW Kinnaman Rd, Aloha, OR, 97007
Cost: GPFS Members: Free. One parent will be admitted free with every student member. You can join GPFS at the door.
Non-members: $5 general admission, $15 family admission, $3 students & seniors. One parent will be admitted free with every paid student admission.

Non-GPFS Events
January 7, 2018
What: Friends of Chamber Music presents Project Trio.
When: 7:30PM
Where: Newmark Theatre, Portland
Cost: Prices are $30 - $55 per ticket and FOCM offer $5 student rush tickets.
More Info: GPFS presented Project Trio back in 2012. For this concert, MYS students will be joining them on stage to perform a few pieces together. More info is on the FOCM web site
