Flute Fair Young Artist Competition

Inviting all middle school and high school flutists to audition for our 2022 virtual Young Artist Competition


REGISTRATION FOR THIS YEAR'S COMPETITION NOW CLOSED.

There are two competition divisions: Junior Division (middle school) or Senior Division (high school). Music may be recorded with or without a piano accompaniment. You may also decide to perform one of the many flute alone solos in our repertoire.

Procedures:

  1. Record your video performance. 
  2. Upload your video to YouTube, Dropbox, Google drive, or another online storage system of your choice.  
  3. Complete the online registration form (left) on or before Monday, March 23rd. You will share a link to your video on this form and pay the $10 YAC entry fee.  
  4. Those with questions should contact Emily Stanek - secretary@gpfs.org.
All competitors will receive detailed comments from our adjudicators: 
  • Senior Competition: Alicia Paulsen and Dr. Jacqueline Cordova
  • Junior Competition: Phyllis Louke and Dr. Sydney Carlson 

Prizes will be awarded as follows: 

Junior Division Prizes

First prize: $150

Second prize: A one hour lesson with Dr. Sydney Carlson

Adjudicators: Phyllis Louke and Dr. Sydney Carlson 

Senior Division Prizes

First prize: $200

Second prize: A one hour lesson with Amelia Lukas

Adjudicators: Alicia Paulsen and Dr. Jacqueline Cordova

Winners will be announced at Flute Fair 2022 and winners will be asked permission for GPFS to share the video at the closing event of the 4/9 Flute Fair.
