May 9, 2023 – Flutist Gabriela Gimenes – Finding music and literature about Choro genre in Brazil. This genre has thousands of compositions and one of the main instruments is the Flute. Let's dive in the www to find content as well as video and audio references for understanding, learning and playing this exciting music. Gabriela is Sopro Novo Yamaha Artist, born in Brazil and based in the Portland area.
June 6, 2023 – Flutist Camila Oliveira will present on Brazilian music for flute, including some insights on Brazil’s NE region’s folk music. Possible introduction to the Pífano, a wood flute! More details to come!
