GPFS ANNUAL FLUTE ENSEMBLE EVENT

Join the Greater Portland Flute Society for our fourth annual flute ensemble and social gathering. Meet fellow flutists, make music together, try instruments, and enjoy a fun flute-filled afternoon.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Ensemble playing in two groups, led by experienced teachers – you choose…

o   Group A:Advanced beginner through intermediate (short pieces, simple meters/rhythms, more narrow octave range)

o   Group B:Intermediate through advanced (Franz Schubert, Allegro from Symphony no. 5; Matt Doran, Variations and Scherzo; Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Selections from The Nutcracker)

• Body and mind warm-up with Donna Maebori
• Flute warm-up with Alexis Evers
• Refreshments and social time
• Flutes to try and purchase
• On-site evaluations and minor repairs
