- Growing Student Memberships - For this membership year (2021-22), the GPFS board challenges itself and membership to sponsor 30 youth memberships - value $15 each. These memberships can be "purchased" at the time individuals join or renew their membership by simply choosing that membership option on the form. Or, one can "donate" a Student Membership by going to the "Donate" option on this GPFS webpage .

- Save the Date - Fall Guest Artist Announcement: We are pleased to announce the guest artist for the GPFS Fall Event is Mihoko Watanabe! Date: 10/23/21, currently scheduled for the afternoon, with specific times to be determined soon. The event will be fully online. There will be a workshop on mindfulness and musicians, a recital by Dr. Watanabe and a brief Q&A interactive session focused on Mei. Please visit the GPFS Fall Guest Artist webpage. She is a Muramatsu Flutes Artist and Professor of Flute at Ball State University.

- Playlist of Five Silhouettes for Solo Alto Flute: From our friends at the British Flute Society (BFS), please enjoy these alto pieces by flutist/composer Paul Cheneour. From BFS, Paul "has released recordings of his Five Silhouettes on YouTube. These five pieces for solo alto flute are based on poems from a series Unfinished, created to inspire a mode or as an imaginative entrances to solo flute pieces. Be sure to not only listen, but also read the poetic words in video presentation.
- Announcement: Notice the name of this readership column has morphed to “Low to High Notes.” In the new GPFS year we will add articles focused on piccolo and other specialty flutes. Contact newsletter@gpfs.org if you would like to write a piece for this column or otherwise see something mentioned you think would be of interest to our fellow members.

- List of New Additions to Library: Click this link to see the new donations which continually arrive and are available to borrow, FREE, for all GPFS members. Recent generous donations have expanded our collection of trios, quartets and chamber music significantly. Also donated: the NFA 20th Anniversary Anthology of American Music, which includes solos, duets and trios with accompaniment; and, Pour le Trio, by Lisa Ann Marsh.
- Music Reviews: Two new music reviews: (1) Pour le Trio, by Lisa Ann Marsh, reviewed by Cheryl Thompson; and, (2) A Flutist's Guide to the Voxman Etudes by Rose Bishop and Lizzy Darling, reviewed by BJ Nicoletti.
