Compositionally Noiberg has an outstanding talent for catchy melodies.” – Süddeutsche Zeitung

ABOUT HADAR NOIBERG

ASCAP award winning flutist and composer, Hadar Noiberg, is pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a gay female musician and bandleader in today’s ever-changing world.

From classical music to jazz to Brazilian choro and Middle Eastern music, Hadar’s eclectic musical background and experience has led her to create her own style where she fuses all those influences seamlessly.

With her exceptional trio she has been touring internationally since 2010 in the US, Canada, Brazil, Europe, Taiwan and Israel. Now she is about to release her 3rd album as a bandleader. “Open Fields” derives from Hadar’s Israeli roots mixed to her worldwide influences to create her own innovative style and extremely melodic instrumental pieces Hadar calls “songs”. The album features Eduardo Belo on double bass, Amir Bar-Akiva on the drums and special guest world renowned pianist, Chano Dominguez.

Dominguez and Noiberg also have a new duo project where they share their musical languages and craft a new way for the various musical traditions of the mediterranean to interact.

After working with such acclaimed artists such as Yemen Blues, Dave Valentin, Anat Cohen, Omer Avital and performing in venues and festivals as Blue Note, WOMEX, Discover Jazz Festival, Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola, Babel Med Music, Roskilde Festival, “A” Trane, Central Park SummerStage, to name a few, Noiberg sets out to create a new musical experience that is unique to her.

Hadar has come a long way since moving to NY at 21. She has made a name for herself in the jazz and world music scenes in NY and internationally. Her artistry and spirit take the audience on a journey to their inner selves and brings healing and joy.

AN INTRODUCTION FROM GPFS VOLUNTEER ELYSE NAH!

2024 Fall Guest Artist Hadar Noiberg is an award winning and internationally acclaimed flutist, educator, and composer who simply exudes fun and freedom. If you check out her YouTube or Tiktok, you’ll find her improvising with the accordion, mixing genres, modulating Mozart’s Concerto in G, talking about burnout, and even trying to play the flute with gloves. As a gay female musician with an eclectic musical background, Noiberg is constantly redefining what it means to make and love music in today’s world, calling for other musicians to let go of boundaries and restrictions. We see this in her passion for choro, a Brazilian genre that bridges jazz and classical, and her invigorating teaching method The Self Sufficient Flutist. The class, open to flutists of all backgrounds, focuses on deepening understandings of harmony, rhythm, and groove to gain true musical independence. When asked if one can be an accomplished flutist and play other styles of music, Noiberg answered with a definite yes, that there is no jazz flute sound or classical flute sound. There is just the flute sound, and more importantly the flutist behind the instrument and their freedom to approach music in different ways. An incredible and inspiring virtuoso, Noiberg teaches us to embrace creative liberty, allowing us to better connect with the music and people around us.
